What I wanted to share with you dear ones are the insights and learnings I gained during my volunteer work. I felt so blessed to have Sr. Pat Murray as my supervisor. I was asked to spend one hour everyday with one of the Sisters and helped her in her needs. I read the bulletin boards early in the morning for my 10:45- 11:15am news information. This pilot project was offered to the Sisters who have the difficulty with their vision. The richness and beauty of another work waited for me in the Treasury’s Office every afternoon.  But since it was the end and beginning of the year, I was asked to go and work also in the Treasury in the morning.  All I needed to do was to manage my time and be flexible especially in time where there was a great need.

Working in the different areas was truly exciting and full of adventure. The experience led me to discover the beauty and richness of each day. It was not the work that matter most, but what laid beyond the works. In every place where I was asked to share my gifts and talents I also discovered the creative works of God’s hand into my life and to everyone. Truly God unfolds God’s self through the people, works, places and circumstances. I am truly grateful for the opportunity that was given to me. One of the great things I learned was the beauty of relationship. Here in Maryknoll, NY God reveals her / his humanity and divinity to those who are willing. The simple smiles, hi and hello, putting Christmas décors together, having snacks together, warm and sincere embrace, etc. indeed were Jesus’ ways to tell me that I am not alone and He is visible. Srs. Pat Murray, Norie Mojado, Marjorie Ann Bush, Vera Krass, Dolores Rosso, Imelda Bautista, Ana Maria Hartman, the staff and you all, thank you for being generous in your own ways. Working with you was indeed a blessing and Jesus’ way of unfolding himself to me in his own chosen time, place and people. Truly you deeply touched my life and showed me the way where our Foundress (MMJ) was / is hoping us to be. Likewise, thank you Shu Chen and Theresa for being there with me not only as my directresses but also as friends that I could count on when I needed you most.
