Maryknoll Affiliates participate in Maryknoll's mission primarily by building mission awareness within themselves and in their daily contacts in society. • Where possible, Affiliates participate directly in Maryknoll's mission activity locally or globally. This includes being involved in Maryknoll's mission promotion and education and cooperation with Maryknoll's Office for Global Concerns. • Many Affiliates, while maintaining a global vision, do mission work with the national and local church and for their local community. • Some Affiliates do participate in overseas mission work for short-term periods at Maryknoll Mission sites. In all of this, the Maryknoll Affiliates assume full responsibility for their activities and their Chapters. While Maryknoll provides some support for the coordination of the movement and the operational expenses involved, Affiliates and Affiliate Chapters are self-financing. Anyone respecting Maryknoll's Catholic identity is welcome to participate in an affiliate relationship with Maryknoll. A Maryknoll Affiliate: 1. Participates in the mission goals of Maryknoll by joining with others in a local Affiliate Chapter; 2. Is recognized as a Maryknoll Affiliate through the executive Coordinator(s) of the Affiliates; 3. Attends the local Maryknoll Affiliate Chapter meetings, participating in the four pillars: - Global Vision
- Spirituality
- Community
- Action
4. Makes known to the local Maryknoll Affiliate Chapter any extraordinary absenteeism by attending at least one meeting within a twelve month period. |
