Most victims are young, uneducated; impoverished; minority; rural; refugee Apr 14, 2008 - The 21st century has seen a growing infestation of greed and exploitation in the form of human trafficking, which the United Nations describes as the recruitment, harboring, transporting, or obtaining of a person through force, fraud, or coercion “for the purpose of subjugation to involuntary servitude, debt bondage, or slavery.” The international community has responded in recent years with multilateral strategies to combat this contemporary slavery.
